Massachusetts Good Neighbor Day 2025
It Starts with Hello!
The Massachusetts Coalition to Build Community and End Loneliness invites you to participate in the second annual Massachusetts Good Neighbor Day, a statewide celebration dedicated to strengthening connections, encouraging kindness, and fostering a deeper sense of belonging throughout the Commonwealth.
Officially recognized nationwide on September 28, we are extending our celebration from September 26 to 28 — a full weekend dedicated to bringing neighbors together.
More important than ever
In a time of isolation, division, and disconnection, Massachusetts Good Neighbor Day reminds us that each of us can help build a more connected and compassionate community — one neighbor, one gathering, one simple act at a time. And let’s not forget those who face barriers and generally cannot connect in traditional ways.
Good Neighbor Day invites people of all ages and backgrounds to show up for their communities — with a wave, a favor, or a simple hello. From small acts of kindness to city-wide celebrations, GND sparks pride, joy, and meaningful connections between neighbors. It’s not just one day — it’s a way of life.
Get Involved
Whether you’re an individual, an organization, or a community group, we invite you to host or participate in an event that brings people together in welcoming and joyful ways.
Events can be big or small — think potlucks, block parties, music or movie nights, interactive art shows, scavenger hunts, community walks or picnics, cleanups, front-porch gatherings, or intergenerational get-togethers.
What matters most is the spirit of connection.
