Public Awareness Subcommittee

We partner with media to produce informative, engaging content for older adults, people with disabilities, and community members of all ages across the state.

Our Objectives

1.

Spread awareness about the health benefits of connection and the health risks of social isolation and loneliness.

2.

Share resources and practical tips to help people improve their social well-being and connect their communities.

3.

Promote the work of the Taskforce and our members locally and nationally and share learnings with other states.

Our Projects

#ReachOutMA Campaign

We launched the #ReachOutMA campaign in 2020 to promote simple but powerful ways to reach out and connect.

CONNECT Series

In Spring 2022, we launched a monthly TV series aired on local media channels across the state to explore various themes related to connected, healthy aging.

“Decades of empirical data have shown that human connection is a necessity for physical health and longevity. Our subcommittee strives to empower people with a deeper appreciation for their relationships and a stronger sense of responsibility for their communities.”
